This is a really lame post

Seriously, this post is pretty bad.  There is no decorating inspiration. There are no funny stories. There are no pretty pictures....well, there are a few pictures, but they are of a dog.  So here is your chance........
...............

If you are still with me, today's post is dedicated to my friend Cody.  I am not real sure why I felt compelled to write about him; but last night, as he lay beside our bed snoring, I decided I needed to introduce the sweetest member of our family.
Cody came into the J's life 6 years ago.  At the time, he was 6 weeks old.

Younger J and Cody

For 6 years, it has just been these two boys.  They slept together, watched tv together and dined together.   They were buds!  Man and his best friend!

(I know this picture is kinda gross)

Present day..........I move in and things slowly begin to change.  For unknown reasons, J and Cody no longer sleep together.  They no longer waller on the couch.  Cody no longer eats off the floor.  Life changed for Cody.  He had no warning.

So here is to my friend! I am sorry I have kicked you out of the big bed, but I am glad you still love me!

I promise relevant post to come soon!

The Story of the Living Room Corner

Dear Blog Friends,

I am sad to report, I was not able to take my much anticipated Chicago trip this past weekend.  You can   thank my two bum kidneys, a frequent fever and a few inflamed nerves for making me miss the trip.  So instead of stories packed full of H&M* bliss or Zara** euphoria,  you get the story of  how I made the little boring corner in our living room a bit more lively!  Although it is not nearly as exciting, I hope you enjoy and if you don't, it is ok.....just blame my kidneys!

Sincerely,

Blog Administrator

Legend:
*H&M - Possibly the best four floors of shopping you will ever experience! This store also has a bonus feature and that is the prices! They are so good you don't feel guilty for buying all the latest fads at once.
**Zara - This store has successfully dressed me for work for the past five years.

The Story of the Living Room Corner

Approximately one year ago, the Odom home went through a mass cleaning project.  Some speculate this act was due to the impending marriage of J and his lovely bride-to-be, while others suspect the cleaning was simply over due.  Either way the purging of furniture, clothes and useless important papers left many bare corners in the home.

When the Bride moved into her new home in Tulsa, she knew exactly what the little bare corner in the living room needed!  A GIANT mirror.  So the search began.......and it kept going and going and going......until three months later she found the perfect mirror!

Photobucket
(I promise I cleaned this mirror a thousand times!  So I can only assume that smudge is a ghost or a reflection from the camera flash)

The mirror was just as she had imagined.....black with lovely detail work.

Then on a trip back to the promise land, Birmingham, she found the perfect vase that would accompany that lonely leaning mirror in the corner.

Now the pair spice up that once desolate corner by giving the the room depth; and the Bride couldn't be more pleased!

The End...................

Well not really, because the last time the Bride's father was in town, he asked where she and J planned to hang that big "thing"!?!?!  :)

I love this.....

online retailer!

So, I am slightly obsession with UK based clothing companies.  Why, you ask.  I honestly have no clue.  It simply may be due to the fact that these clothing companies seldom ship to the U.S; thus my obsession is a classic case of wanting something I can't have.

However, TODAY I (with the help of my dear friend Shannon, who also loves UK clothes) bring to you good news!  ASOS not only ships to the US, but ships for FREE!

So if you are in need of some stylish work clothes,......

 holiday party attire,.....

 or a weekend assemble,

Asos likely has something!  And with a 20% off discount code, "PSWLOVESASOS" (from Oct. 22 to Nov. 22)  you surely can find something!

Have a great weekend!  I am off to Chicago so I know I will!

What are you thankful for?

Well if you aren't sure, you only 16 days til you gather around that table full of delicious food and your entire family is staring at you wondering what is taking you so long to answer!

So whether you are a line-em-up-buffet-style family (like mine)

  a sit-em-down-to-a-fancy-feast family,

or a kids-get-your-own-table-so-the-adults-can-eat-in-peace family,

remember that Thanksgiving is a perfect time to reflect on God's blessings

and

 enjoy A Charlie Browns Thanksgiving!
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise;
be thankful unto him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4

Good Ole Rocky Top

J and I just returned from the annual (37 years) Smokey Mountain vacation!

Photobucket
Yes, you read that correctly! For the past 37 years (and some), this dashing group, otherwise known as the "Branchwood Bunch", has vacationed in Gatlingburg, TN every fourth weekend in October; otherwise known as Halloween weekend.

Example: circa 1990

As always, we ate too much and stayed up to late.  We shared lots of laughs and reminisced about the good old days.  We even ran into President Obama....or so he claimed.......I have my doubts!

Photobucket

I took tons of pictures and look forward to sharing them with you!  But now I must get dinner on the table as it is almost 9.....oops!

Ole Fashion Sleeper!

Call me crazy, but I want to invest in a Twin Sleeper! .......................................................

Now that the crickets have stopped chirping, let me explain my thought process.

a) Our cozy little bungalow only comes with two bedrooms;
b) My family lives on the other side of the world! (also known as Atlanta and Birmingham); and
c) I am really tired of pulling out the blow up mattress when more than two people come to visit.

And the best part of the deal, sleepers are not as ugly as I remember!

Here are my front runners.......
(via Haverty's)

Not only are these guys pratical, they would be perfect reading chairs!

Whose on board now????

My one comment...

I try not to say much about college football,  especially Auburn football. Don't get me wrong....I love my Auburn Tigers, but I know we have all been apart of  a football season (or seasons) were our team is having a great year!

I realize we may be the next team to fall, but for this week ( and possibly this week only), we are ranked number 1!!!!
