Home sweet home

This past weekend, we made one last trip to Birmingham before Miss Ella's arrival.
And of course, we partied it up with the old crew!

just because i think it is fun....here is a picture of the same group circa 1987ish

From what I can tell, white visors were all the rage that year!

While we didn't have an ocean to keep us busy, we managed to have just as much fun eating our body weight in food, having lots of laughs and hanging out til most of the men had fallen asleep!

Here are a few pictures to give you a glimpse of our fun (Thanks for the pictures Stac!!!)

(J and Lucy seeing how far they could get in the pond before someone fell....and by someone I mean Lucy)

(me and my dad)

(the pregnant ladies and our loving husbands!)

Although we have all gotten older, being together is just as much fun as it was 28 years ago!

Master Bath Remodel

A few months ago, I mentioned that we were in the middle of a "master" bath remodel

In case you need a refresher of the pre-remodel state ....

Well folks, it only took us 8 months but here we have it ....

dum duh dum dum....

Post remodel!!!!

We still need to add some details.....like door knobs and floor mats and pictures,
BUT hey, works of art don't happen over night, (or in 8 months) right?

It's a ......

Jacob and I were able to find out the gender of our little one at 18 weeks.  But we decided it would be fun to keep it a secret.  Just our little secret.

So we did just that....until we ran into some special friends....like the mail man, the random (really sweet) older lady standing next to us at Redbox and the bag boy at the grocery store who would have rather been discussing dirt then the gender of our little bundle of joy.  It was after the we told the waiter at a local restaurant that we decided we weren't very good at keeping secrets.

So we decided to invite a few family members over and make our announcement.

Catching up.....Christmas

I started uploading all our Christmas pictures and lost them for some reason.

So instead of dazzling you with 103 pictures, here are 3.

First we begin with the annual "Seriously Allison, I am not taking a picture sitting on Santa's lap" picture.

Mrs. Claus couldn't get Santa to really narrow in on the camera this year.  Maybe his far off gaze is regarding his upcoming busy season?

Next.....wait for it.....

THE Odom's LIGHTING SPECTACULAR!

Don't worry.....ALL the trees in the front yard had lights hanging from them!

And we round out our photo session with Cody reading his Christmas card from one of his dog friends.
(Not kidding)

He liked the card so much he hid it in a very special place.  The place is so secertive, I still haven't been able to locate it.

And with that....Merry Christmas (even if it is February)!

Catching up.....Thanksgiving Weekend

Yes it has been a while!  So to round out 2011, how about a quick overview of the major holidays?

First on the list....Thanksgiving.

This year J and I traveled to the land of milk and honey to celebrate Turkey Day.  Yes, you got it...we went to lovely Birmingham.

We spent some time with new friends.  Like this new family member....Bailey.

(Mom working the camera.)

and partied with our old friends!

(I am telling you...we are real party animals!)

(the fun is just oozing all over the place in this picture!)

As long as everyone had some food the crowd was peaceful.....

but as soon as the fork was empty....

the crowd became a little hostile!

All in all, we had one GREAT Thanksgiving!
