we played in the park.....
When in Tuscany, we toured the countryside....
When in Pisa, we were surprised that the tower really does lean....
When in Cinque Terra, we walked in vineyards and sat on the beach....
When in Venice, we got lost!
After our 14 day trip, we have returned to Oklahoma. We had a wonderful time enjoying the food, culture and scenery! I have so many pictures to share...tonight I will begin the downloading process!

Our Mom.....
was once a little girl who lived on a farm in north Alabama. She enjoyed playing with paper dolls and making mud pies. She has eaten ice cream made of snow, fallen out of a truck and been accidently shot in the toe with a BB gun courtesy of her little brother.
She is loved and respected by many....
We hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day! Thank you for loving us unconditionally!
We love you!
This little girl is also a mom to one son.....
and one daughter......
She is a nana......
a wife of 35 years....
a mother-n-law.....
and a friend.
She is funny.....
and loving.
She likes to play with us.......
and make us smile.
She is loved and respected by many....
and is the glue of our family.
She is our mom!
We hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day! Thank you for loving us unconditionally!
We love you!

Sewing Project - Take One
Well.....I did it! Not the best sewing job known to man. But I DID IT! (I would like to pause and thank my mom for coaching me through this project....Big thanks mom!).
Over the past month, I have been in search of outdoor pillows for our front porch bench. However, I could not justify paying $32 for one pillow. This decision lead me to option B....make them. So this weekend that is just what I did…..the sewing extravaganza that will now become a hobby has commenced!
Now for all you seamstress out there (Mrs. Sue and Tiffany :), I know this does not seem like a big deal....but I have two left feet (or in sewing terms maybe it is left hands) when it comes to sewing.
Since this is my first sewing gig (second is coming up....curtians!), I borrowed my sister-n-laws sewing machine.
After a quick trip to Hancocks, we had our materials and began taking measurements.....
My sweet mom was in town this pas weekend and helped me with my project. She shared some of her sewing tricks! My favorite.....to make sure you start off with straight lines, pick one thread and pull it out of the fabric. This will give you a straight line to use as a guide when cutting.
Nice straight line.....
to use as my guide for cutting.......
Look who managed to cut straight lines......
The assembly process........
Voila! and yes I woke Jacob up to show him the finished product.
As a side note....mom and I also re-finished the bench above. I will share these pictures soon!
3 days, 3 hours and 45 minutes!

Il limite di Italia!!!
That is right....we are Italy Bound!!! In five short days, Jacob and I will be jet setting across the Atlantic! I have tried to maintain my composure about this trip for the last couple of months, but now I am beside myself with excitement! Since Italy is all I can think about, I wanted to share an overview of our itinerary….
First, we will fly into Vencie and spend a few days enjoying the romantic motorist free islands.....
